Part I- Application, Selection and Admission
Q.1. What is the first step to apply for admission to FHRAI-IHM?

Q. 2.What is the application fee?
Ans. The entrance test fee is Rs. 500/- by Cash or DD in favour of FHRAI, B-82, Himalaya House, 23 K.G. Marg, New Delhi – 110001

Q.4. Is financial assistance available to students?
Ans. Yes. Indian students (landed immigrants) may apply for loan. We work with financial instituttions that offer student loans to cover tuition fees, or even living expenses. Please contact Admission office for detailed information.
Q.5. Can I start the programme at different times of the year?
Ans. F-IHM has start dates every year. Usually all programs start in August.
Q.6. Do I have to complete the programme within a fixed time limit?
Ans. Students are expected to make a commitment to the program of study and complete it within the given time frame. As all the programs are professional, 100 % attendance is required. Students can only be granted time off for legitimate reasons such as medical and family emergencies.
Q.7. If I am not an Indian resident, how do I apply for an Indian student visa?
Ans. International students need to apply for a study visa. You can apply for a study visa at your nearest Indian embassy abroad. Before you apply for a permit, you will need:
a) A Formal Letter of Acceptance from F-IHM. Students who are qualified to join the program will receive their Formal Letter of Acceptance once they have submitted their program fees in full.
b) A valid passport.
c) A temporary resident visa (depending on your country of origin).
d) For more information on the specific requirements for a study permit, and to find out your country's specific requirements for a resident visa, please visit and contact Citizenship and Immigration Office.
Q.8. I understand that the program fee has to be paid in full before I apply for my study visa. What will happen if my study visa is rejected?
Ans. In the unlikely event that the study visa application is rejected, the program fee is refundable (Excepting Rs 25,000/- as registration fee ) within 30 working days, after the college receives the written proof that the study visa has been rejected by the Indian Immigration Office.

Part II - Academic Facilities
Q.1. Can you tell me more about the academic material/ input ?
Ans. F-IHM uses the industry-endorsed curriculum as per university norms. In addition students are also required to complete various professional workshops, assignments, dessertation, projects and internship.
Q.2. Are the courses at F-IHM transferable to other universities?
Ans. Yes, through collaboration and association that we have developed with our partner universities which specialize in the relevant management training programmes, graduates of F-IHM are guaranteed acceptance into their Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes.
Q.3.How does your programme compared to the many other hotel / hospitality management courses?
Ans. The courses conducted at F-IHM are in conformity with International hospitality education under the exclusive MOU with IGNOU for FHRAI Institute only which has components from the university.
Q.4.Where are the classes held?
Ans. The classes are held at F-IHM Campus, located in Knowledge Park III, Greater Noida, UP very near to the capital city of New Delhi and also at other hospitality facilities such as selected hotels for internship.
Q. 5. Why should I choose F-IHM for a degree in Hospitality Management?
Ans.: The courses being delivered at F-IHM are purely hospitality oriented and of international standard. The Institute is founded by FHRAI a national association comprising over 3,500 hospitality organizations as its members who provide help and assistance in multifarious activities such as infrastructure, academic, industrial exposure/training and placement. Part IV- Training
Q.1. What is an industrial exposure/internship and where do students complete their internships?
Ans. Internships are practical work experiences where students apply their hospitality service and supervisory skills in restaurants, clubs, hotels, and resorts. In most cases, internships are paid work experiences.
Q.2.Where do the students gain their work experience at the hotel?
Ans. Students gain direct work experience at various departments in a hotel such as:

Try to pick an area that interests you and build a career in that field. The opportunities are endless.
Since the students will be studying and working at the hotels during the entire length of the internship, they will get to know the hotel staff and will have the opportunity to find out directly from staff members what life is like working in the hospitality field. In fact, some of the hotel staff may be guest lecturers for some of the courses.

Q.5. How much time should I expect to spend studying in class and how much time working in the Labs?
Ans. About half the time is spent in class and the other half is spent working in Labs: roughly 3 hours of studying and 3 hours of practical training
. Q.6.What are the options for industrial exposure destinations?
Ans. Students may approach any hotel /tourist centre in India or any country abroad to get industrial exposure. The student is responsible for his/her own travel arrangements from FIHM Campus to destination and back.
We also place students for short term training at different types of hotel properties, including high end ranches, resorts. Through our strong industry connection, we have the flexibility and resources to assist students in meeting their needs.

Part V- Hostel and Accommodation Facilities
Q.1.What type of living environment should I expect, if I live in the hostel?
Ans. Students have the option to live in the hostel in a regular room. In the hostel, students have amenities that include high-speed internet, community television with cable TV, phone facility for local calls, bathrooms, and housekeeping services.
Q.2.Where do students eat if they live at the hostel?
Ans. Students who live at the hostel have all their meals on-campus Dining Hall..
Q.3. Is there a place for students to work out?
Ans. There is a Gymnasium in the hostel that has weights and exercise machines. The campus also has indoor and outdoor recreational facilities.
Q.4.Do I have to live at the hostel?
Ans. No. There are two options. Students may live at the hostel when they have to pay their accommodation and meals cost in advance. Students may also live off campus at their own cost.

Q.3.What subjects should I take to prepare for this programme at 10+ 2 level?
Ans. Academic subjects, such as Mathematics, English and Science are highly recommended but not mandatory. Technical courses in food preparation, if available, are recommended, but not required, to enter the programme.
Q.4. Is the Hospitality Management Programme recognized internationally?
Ans. The Hospitality Management Programme is accredited by IGNOU, an internationally recognized University.. Accreditation is a rigorous process that is intended to ensure that the programme's faculty, facilities, equipment, and curriculum meet the quality standards set by education and industry leaders.
Q.5.What kind of tools are required for the Hospitality Management Programme?
Ans. Professionalism is stressed throughout the Hospitality Management Programme; therefore, students are required to wear uniforms while in the campus as well as in labs as prescribed by the Institute. .
Q.6. How much hands-on experience will I get in the Hospitality Management Programme?
Ans. Students in the Hospitality Management Programme are provided with many opportunities to gain practical experience. Starting in the second semester, students get hands-on experience in food preparation and table service. During semester break, students may practice in a hotel, restaurant, resort or country club. In the final two semesters, students practice wine and beverage service and dining room management in our restaurant.
