Buildings and facilities
In the first phase we have
constructed a covered area of 1.25 lac sq. feet (11617 sq. mt). The
Institute has three main buildings, the academic block, a three-storey
building with a basement, a four-storey gentlemen's hostel and a
two-storey ladies' hostel. All the buildings have been constructed
to state-of-the-art technical standards, with equipment and
furnishings of high quality.
The vacant area in the plot has
attractive landscaping, which is still being developed. There are
outdoor sports facilities for tennis, badminton and basketball.
There is a indoor fitness center or gym for the students , which is
functional.
Development plans also call for
a swimming pool , which is expected to be launched during the third
year of the Institute. There will be further construction of hostel
rooms as per the needs, as the students of the first batch go into
2nd, 3rd and 4th year and there are new admissions of the fresh
batches.
The academic block has eight
classrooms, five kitchens, a student dining hall and a training
restaurant. The kitchens are referred to laboratories and provide
academic and practical training in real-time conditions. As the
Institute is also offering a course on culinary management, the
kitchens are well-equipped and modern in design, and suitable for
such a course. In addition, there is a well-equipped library and
also a computer laboratory for computer training at basic level as well as
in information technology for hotel and restaurant operations.
The academic block is
equipped with air-conditioning and the hostel rooms with desert
coolers during the summer and room heaters in the winters.
