Greater Noida
Greater Noida in Gautam Budh
Nagar District in UP is a new city near Delhi which has developed
significantly over the last ten years. Being the newest, it is the
most planned city in the National Capital Region and almost
pollution-free. Its current population is about 2 lacs, which is
expected to grow to approximately 7 lacs in 2011 and 12 lacs by the
year 2021. It has a large commercial development of non-polluting
industrial units, particularly in information technology, BPO ,
biotechnology and other modern industries. The planned development
includes shopping malls, universities, engineering colleges, medical
colleges, and huge residential developments. The separate
institutional area is spread over Knowledge Parks I, II, and III .
The 25 km, 8-lane highway which connects Greater Noida to Noida
takes only 15 minutes of driving time. There is also a proposal to
connect Noida to Delhi with the Metro rail line.
